Connection Church Athens is ultimately led by Jesus Christ, as He is the head of the Church. We believe the Bible is God's inerrant revelation and our ultimate authority in all decisions. We are Jesus-ruled, elder led, and congregation accountable.
Liam Hardy
Lead Pastor
Liam and his wife Olivia have been married for 4 years. They welcomed their first daughter Reese Brooklyn into the world in June 2022. Liam grew up in Commerce, Georgia and has been in worship and student ministry for 5 years. Liam has his Masters of Divinity in Preaching and Pastoral Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Jim Fullington
Jim and his wife Teresa have been married for 34 years and have lived in the Athens area since 1998. They have 2 kids and 3 grandkids. Jim has faithfully served the Lord for over 40 years including being a deacon for many years. Jim is retired from the GBI and is currently the Police Chief in Winder, Georgia where he has served for 10 years. Jim enjoys serving and shepherding God's people while enjoying his grandkids and sports.
Jamie Fullington
Jamie and his wife Autumn have 3 kids - AJ, Mary Ellen, and Wren. They have been married for 8 years. Jamie has worked with Coca-Cola for 10 years and attended Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jamie has served in many areas of spiritual leadership over the last 8 years and enjoys coaching his kids and pouring into people.
Scott Powell
Scott and his wife Beverly have been married for 36 years. They have two adult children, Wade and Kimberly, and have lived in the Athens area for most of their adult lives. Scott is recently retired from a 35 year career in manufacturing. Scott has been active in church ministry for over 40 years, serving as Sunday school teacher, high school youth leader and Elder. At Connection Church Athens Scott and Beverly host a Connect Group where they enjoy studying God’s word with dedicated believers.
